Mainly a suburban city, Coquitlam is the sixth largest city in British Columbia, with a (2016) population of 139,284. Coquitlam is situated roughly 32 km East of Downtown Vancouver, bordering Burnaby and Port Moody to the West, New Westminster to the Southwest and Port Coquitlam to the Southeast.
